Tibet, also referred as “Roof of the World”, is the highest plateau region located at the average altitude of 4,900 metres (16,000 ft). Tibet is famous for the world's highest mountain, Mount Everest, which is situated on the border with Nepal. Especially, Tibet also the home to numerous golden sunshine places, historic palaces, glaciers and breathtaking sceneries such as turquoise water Yamdrok Lake and Namtso Lake. These lakes are far beyond your expectation and definitely leave visitors long-lasting impression of the heavenly Tibet.
Yamdroktso Lake
Yamdrok Yumtso, also known as Yamdrok-tso, is one of three holiest lakes in Tibet. Originally, Yamdrok Yumtso - the blue precious stone within mountains with indescribable scenic beauty means “swan pool” in Tibetan language. Traditionally, the Yamdrok Yumtso Lake is said to be the transformation of a goddess. Under sunshine, the sacred lake features iconic turquoise water which is compared with the fairyland in heaven.

Yamdrok-Tso Lake has the unique shape with snow-capped mountains and pasture.

Yamdrok-Tso Lake is punctuated by enormous gleaming white massifs.

Yamdrok-Tso Lake is the dreamy destination for travelers as well as all Tibetans. The lake is so holy that Tibetan people often visit whenever they struggle to make decisions.

The northern nomadic area and pasture are home to thousands of nomads.

Nojin Kangtsang is the famous snow peek in Yamdrok-Tso Lake.
Nam-tso Lake
Nam Tso, the most famous lake in Tibet, is situated 190 km north-west of Lhasa and altitude of 4,718. Not only being an important pilgrimage sight, the lake is home to thousand migrating birds and other local birds. In addition, Nam Tso Lake is also second largest saltwater lake in China after Qinghai Lake in Qinghai province.

Nam-Tso Lake is a freshwater lake at 4,700m above sea level. To make a journey around the entire lake, it takes at least 21 days.

The sacred Namtso Lake features fabulous shade of turquoise and magnificent views of the nearby mountains.

Tibet has unique culture, landscape and living style.

The horizon looks incredible with perfect blue and clear sky.

The best time to visit Nam Tso Lake is from May to October.
