Africa, one of the most diverse of the continents of the world, is fast becoming a popular place to visit with tourists all over, including us British travellers. With the world cup fast approaching, this is set to become more of a predominant destination, as vast numbers are gearing up to support their country's teams.
The second most populated continent, it covers 6% of the world's total surface area, and nearly 15% of the world's population. It is steeped in history, and for years has been largely avoided by mainstream travellers, with Asia and Australia being more popular destinations. Considered by scientists as the origin of human life, Africa's contains 54 sovereign countries, and has a vast and encompassing landscape, including desert and verdant rainforest.
Visit Kenya for some of the most magnificent wildlife in the world. Safari through the Masai Mara, or visit the Great Rift Valley; often described as the great scar of Africa. See zebras and giraffe in their natural habitat, and be dazzled. Try Rwanda for gorilla tracking in the rainforest, or the Ivory Coast to feel the history of the slave trade.
Travellers to Africa have been advised that it would be unwise to go without an adequate Travel Insurance policy, as well as consulting the embassy for the relevant injections that you need to have before travelling, including for the most part, malaria.
Make sure that you visit this beautiful and unrivalled continent before it is ruined by mass tourism. For an experience that you will remember for the rest of your life, try Africa.
